Job Title: Vehicle Technician

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at East of England Ambulance Service. As a key member of our Workshop Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our ambulances are safe and operational for patients in need.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing faults in our vehicles, ensuring they meet MOT standards and are returned to service in a timely and cost-efficient manner. You will work closely with our team to maintain a high level of vehicle availability and ensure our fleet is always ready to respond to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair faults in vehicles, including mechanical, electrical, and bodywork repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing on vehicles to ensure they meet MOT standards
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a high level of vehicle availability
  • Participate in a rota for 24-hour service and repair callouts
  • Carry out MOT inspections and repairs as required
  • Responsible for the safe working practices undertaken when dealing with motor vehicle air-conditioning systems
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment to assist in fault diagnosis and repair
Requirements:
  • C1 License category (or ability to achieve within 6 months)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Extensive post-apprenticeship experience in vehicle mechanical engineering
  • NVQ 2 in Vehicle Maintenance Repair (Light Vehicle) or equivalent experience
