Financial Accountant Role


Our client, a reputable international asset management group, is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join their Group Finance team. The successful candidate will support the Group Financial Accountant in preparing monthly reports and annual financial statements.


The position reports to the Group Finance Director and is based in Leeds, with an anticipated one day a week spent in London. The Financial Accountant will spend a significant amount of time supporting the Group Financial Accountant in preparing monthly reports for the Group's management team and on submissions to the Group's parent company.


The role will also involve supporting in-year-end activities, preparing subsidiary financial statements, and administering the Group's banking facilities. Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to the work of the wider Group finance team, which includes systems improvement projects and Group tax support.


The key activities undertaken by the Group Finance Team include:


Financial Reporting

  • Preparation of Consolidated financial statements on an IFRS basis.
  • Consolidation of financial results for statutory reporting.
  • Financial statements of centrally controlled entities, including accounts for companies in the UK, Jersey, and Cyprus.
  • Continuous review and documentation of group accounting policies and practices.
  • Monthly and quarterly review processes.


Reporting and Forecasting

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly submissions to the parent company.
  • Preparation of budget and quarterly forecast submissions to the parent company.


Liaison and Collaboration

  • Liaison with Group finance teams in the Americas, UK & Europe, Middle East, India, and Asia Pacific to ensure accurate and timely delivery of high-quality financial statements.


Requirements


  • Recognised Professional Accounting Qualification.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • The ability to review and understand financial systems and processes with a view to continuous improvement.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and a professional manner.
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, well-organised, diligent, proactive, and enthusiastic about improvement.
