Position Overview

Financial Accountant - Hybrid Role - Competitive Daily Rate - Contract Position - Prestigious Fashion Organization

The Financial Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the Record to Report (RTR) processes within the Finance department, ensuring adherence to corporate policies, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will also align with established service level agreements and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:


• Service Delivery:


• Execute RTR transactions and generate comprehensive reports.


• Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations.


• Prepare local compliance documentation, including statutory financial statements and periodic VAT and tax returns.


• Address a variety of ad hoc inquiries and perform necessary analyses, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely responses.


• Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including the Finance and Commercial teams, as well as external parties such as auditors.


• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, focusing on the effectiveness of internal controls related to financial reporting.


• The role may involve occasional travel and work during weekends or public holidays during critical reporting periods.


• Continuous Improvement:


• Utilize knowledge of assigned business processes to identify areas for enhancement and propose improvement initiatives.


• Work closely with process owners to understand root causes and document procedures, practicalities, and exceptions.


• Actively seek feedback from team members and other stakeholders to inform future service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:


• Currently pursuing a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, CA, ACCA, or CIMA.


• Previous experience in an accounting role within a large, publicly traded multinational corporation is preferred.


• Proficiency in applying IFRS or local accounting GAAP is essential.


• SAP training and certification are advantageous; familiarity with BPC is a plus.


• Ability to understand broader business issues and provide functional guidance to team members, rather than solely relying on technical skills.


• Experience working in a multicurrency environment, with the ability to analyze the effects of currency fluctuations on financial results is desirable.


• Advanced Excel skills, including experience in developing and managing complex financial models and large datasets.
