Dedicated Support Worker for Individuals with Spinal Injuries

Active Care Group's Care in the Home division is dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and outcome-driven care to all clients through our exceptional support workers, clinicians, and management team.
We are seeking experienced, highly motivated, and proactive Support Workers with an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a full clean driving licence to work in North Wales.
About the RoleYou will be providing essential support to three male clients aged between 35 and 60 years old, all of whom have spinal injuries. Some may also have additional needs such as Tractotomy, Peg Feeding, and/or Mental Health needs.
Your responsibilities will encompass assisting with daily living activities while encouraging our clients to engage in social activities they enjoy, such as meeting friends at the pub, watching movies, and visiting family.
Shift Details- 12-hour shifts
- Days - 8am until 8pm
- Nights - 8pm until 8am
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of our clients while protecting their human rights.
- Empower clients to make choices and control their lives as much as possible, considering any cognitive challenges they may face.
- Collaborate with and support families as needed.
- Assist clients in maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene.
- Support clients in accessing local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities, and attending community events.
- Adhere to the documented service user plan for each client.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records.
- Participate in manual handling procedures as instructed.
- Uphold professional boundaries with clients and their families, adhering to guidance from the case manager.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- NVQ / QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care
- A genuine passion for providing the highest quality person-centered care.
- Experience working with clients who exhibit challenging behaviors.
- Previous experience working with individuals with spinal injuries is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to learn and develop.
- Successful candidates will undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
