About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Practitioner Manager to join our Children's Services team in the Vale of Glamorgan Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our children and our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a social work service to children, young people, and their families/carers, ensuring comprehensive support and effective practice.
- Collaborate with other agencies to ensure comprehensive support for children, promoting partnership working and effective communication.
- Formulate and adhere to legislation, policies, and processes, ensuring compliance and best practice.
- Supervise social work staff in their direct practice, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
- Deputise for the Team Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity and effective leadership.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To be warm and kind, with a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children and families.
- A proven track record of effective practice, experience, and supervision within Children's Social Services, with a strong understanding of the needs of children who are looked after.
- Experience of supervising others and a commitment to relationship-based practice with children, their families, and carers.
- Experience of using the Wales Safeguarding Procedures and a commitment to partnership working.
