Your Role as a Lead Gas Engineer

As a Lead Gas Engineer within our Emergency Response Team, you will primarily operate independently, being the first responder to incidents at our customers' residences, addressing reported gas leaks or carbon monoxide alarms. Your role will involve direct interaction with customers and emergency services, which may require working during shifts and outside regular hours.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include monitoring gas levels during programmed escapes and conducting surveys for medium and high-rise buildings, as well as ensuring compliance with gas safety regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for installing cooker safety valves, performing purges, relights, and more.

Candidate Profile

  • CCN1, CESP1 or CMA1 (Essential for this position; certificates will be requested during the interview)
  • Experience in a gas-related environment
  • Strong knowledge of gas appliances, including testing, purging, and pipework commissioning
  • Excellent customer engagement skills to ensure safety and satisfaction
  • Understanding of relevant Standards, Legislation, Codes of Practice, and Health and Safety regulations
  • Problem-solving abilities and quick thinking in technical situations
  • A valid UK driving licence
