Job Overview

The position of Youth Support Specialist offers a remarkable chance to deliver personalized assistance to adolescents, collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure their well-being and enhance their outcomes. Our specialists customize support based on each young individual's unique needs and situations, functioning within the framework of the County Lines Support and Rescue Service funded by the Home Office.

About You

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of nurturing relationships with key partner organizations while effectively collaborating within a team.
  • Dependable and trustworthy, demonstrating a creative and adaptable approach to all work-related tasks.
  • Strong organizational capabilities, adept at managing competing priorities through problem-solving and a proactive attitude.
  • Experience in engaging with and training young individuals and professionals, both in group settings and one-on-one.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, along with knowledge of risk assessments, engagement strategies, and intervention methods, particularly concerning young people with complex needs.
  • Familiarity with data recording and management systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Delivering comprehensive support and interventions to a designated caseload of young individuals and their families involved in County Lines activities, utilizing effective assessment, care planning, and risk management techniques.
  • Continuously evaluating and managing risks associated with caseloads, escalating issues as necessary through internal and external safeguarding protocols, and adjusting case management approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Ensuring that the diverse needs and aspirations of all service users are incorporated into service planning and delivery, enabling them to achieve their full potential.
  • Coordinating effectively with local partner organizations and relevant agencies to facilitate seamless referrals, care, risk management, and transitions for young individuals.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in ICT, with experience in data recording and management systems.
  • Background in working with young individuals and their families identified as vulnerable or with complex needs, preferably in community environments.
  • Experience in inter-agency collaboration, ideally with Children's and Family Services, Youth Justice Services, or Youth Services.
  • Understanding of risk and vulnerability issues affecting young people.
  • Desirable: Relevant qualifications in fields such as youth work, community support, health and social care, or management.

Additional Information

Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 per annum
Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent

*This role necessitates access to a vehicle and a full, current manual driving license.
*Regional travel and on-call duties (on a rota basis), including occasional evening and weekend work, will be required.
