Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Biomedical Scientist specializing in Hematology to join our esteemed Pathology department. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading laboratory environment, renowned for its commitment to excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Operate within a comprehensive laboratory setting, utilizing advanced technologies to provide critical services to a diverse patient population.
  • Engage in the transition to a state-of-the-art laboratory facility, enhancing the quality of service delivery.
  • Demonstrate expertise in performing a variety of specialized clinical investigations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in results.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and educational environment.
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation standards and contribute to quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess:

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and substantial experience in Hematology.
  • A completed IBMS Specialist Portfolio if registered with the HCPC post-2006.
  • Proficiency in blood film morphology and a comprehensive understanding of laboratory procedures.
