Quarriers is actively seeking experienced part-time Nighttime Support Specialists to enhance our Countryview Respite service for Children and Families. Nestled in a serene environment, Countryview offers essential support to children with complex needs, including medical challenges. Our facility provides round-the-clock assistance and features a sensory room, along with a delightful outdoor garden equipped with swings and a playhouse, ensuring children can enjoy their time consistently.

As a Nighttime Support Specialist , your role will involve providing care to children throughout the night as needed. You will collaborate with a team to ensure the comfort of the children, administer necessary medications, and uphold a secure environment during the waking nightshift. Your expertise will be crucial in managing various conditions and support requirements, such as epilepsy, gastrostomy feeds, dysphagia, oxygen/c-pap therapy, and supporting neurodiverse children with autism, ODD, OCD, and Dyspraxia. Some children may exhibit distressed behaviors and significant complex trauma, requiring you to utilize your skills to offer behavioral support when necessary.

Working pattern: This is a part-time, permanent position with waking nightshifts spanning 11 hours, starting from 9pm to 8am. Nighttime practitioners will receive an enhanced hourly rate of £14.51 for hours worked between midnight and 7am. The available hours total 22 per week and include weekend shifts on a rotational basis.

What you will need to be considered

A mandatory SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and HNC. (It is essential to possess both qualifications, or at least one with a commitment to achieve the other within an agreed timeframe) Proven experience and knowledge in working with children & families in a comparable environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate accurate recording and reporting. A willingness to learn and adapt care approaches based on individual needs. Ability to provide support to Children, Families, and Young People, ensuring rights are upheld and delivering person-centered care with a trauma-informed perspective. Dependable and flexible. A valid driving license is required.
