About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communication Specialist to join our team at the Energy Institute. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a vital role in promoting and protecting our reputation as a source of knowledge and expertise among our members, customers, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Work closely with the Head of Communications & Marketing to develop and implement effective communication strategies that align with the Energy Institute's goals and objectives.
  • Manage External Communications: Ensure that all external communications are accurate, timely, and engaging, and that they effectively promote the Energy Institute's brand and reputation.
  • Support Branch Activities: Provide support for the promotion of events being held by the Energy Institute's branches in the UK and internationally, and work closely with volunteers to ensure that all external-facing activity is well-coordinated and effective.
  • Maintain Digital Presence: Play a key role in maintaining a dynamic social media presence that places the Energy Institute in conversations and drives traffic to our website, and ensure that all webpages are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Support Marketing and Events: Support the promotion of the Energy Institute's products and services, and capitalize on and fulfill involvement in industry initiatives with other professional bodies and partners.
Requirements
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write engaging, high-impact copy tailored to target audiences.
  • Project Management Skills: Disciplined project management and organization skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously at pace.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with a broad range of communication channels, and the ability to learn how to use the Energy Institute's member database, content database, and email marketing platform.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: A willingness to get under the skin of the organization and act as a central point of information about all forthcoming external communication activity, and to work collaboratively with other communicators embedded across the Energy Institute.
