Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Wigan Urgent Care and Inpatient Team for an Administration Assistant. The post holder will provide an efficient and effective clerical service to the multi-disciplinary team.

Main Duties

The post holder will be the first point of contact for all telephone and reception enquiries, ensuring that messages are forwarded to the appropriate persons and visitors are welcomed to the department. The role will involve providing an effective clerical service to support the team, including photocopying, typing, data input, and maintenance of an effective filing and retrieval system. The post holder will also be responsible for arranging clinics, booking appointments, and associated data entry, including the retrieval and maintenance of patient records.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an office environment and possess excellent communication skills. They will also have a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute and be proficient in Microsoft Office. A knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook is also desirable.
