Position Overview

The Student Welfare and Support Coordinator will play a pivotal role within the Student Support and Wellbeing framework, primarily focusing on the needs of students at UCL East. This position serves as a vital resource for students, ensuring they receive comprehensive support while also extending assistance to those on the Bloomsbury campus. Collaboration with various departments across UCL is essential to enhance local support services and foster meaningful connections with the student body.

Key Responsibilities

The Coordinator will work closely with mental health and disability advisors, academic staff, and peer support initiatives to create a nurturing environment that promotes community and belonging at UCL East. The role includes:

  • Providing essential administrative support to the Student Support and Wellbeing Team.
  • Managing student inquiries, including telephone communications and appointment scheduling.
  • Disseminating important information and coordinating various projects.
  • Offering guidance and liaising with relevant services to ensure adequate support for students with disabilities and those experiencing wellbeing or mental health challenges.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of student welfare and community support services, alongside familiarity with the UK higher education landscape, disability legislation, and data protection protocols. The following skills are essential:
