Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Team Leader to join our team at Swanton Care & Community Ltd. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to children with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day management of a shift, providing practical assistance and emotional support to empower your team in supporting the children they care for.
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the highest standard of care is maintained, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans, working closely with the management team and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure the smooth running of the home, coordinating shifts, allocating child supervision, and prioritizing care.
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating empathy, sensitivity, and respect for the children, their families, and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, contributing to the development of policies and procedures, and sharing best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, such as social services, healthcare professionals, and educational institutions, to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in childcare, social work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a residential care setting, working with children with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks, managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and policies related to childcare and residential care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and approachability.
  • Valid driving license and ability to drive a minibus.
