Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Team Leader to join our team at Swanton Care & Community Ltd. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to children with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day management of a shift, providing practical assistance and emotional support to empower your team in supporting the children they care for.
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the highest standard of care is maintained, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans, working closely with the management team and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children.
  • Provide training and support to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure the smooth running of the home, coordinating shifts and allocating child supervision as needed.
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity to the needs of the children and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the team, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in childcare or social work, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a residential care setting, with a focus on supporting children with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to shift work and on-call duties.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and policies related to childcare and residential care.
