Job Description

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to align the people strategy with the company's overarching business objectives.
  • Provide counsel to the PLC Board, remuneration committee, and nominations committee on strategic human resource matters.
  • Develop and articulate a clear vision for the organization's culture, values, and people practices.
  • Lead the formulation of talent acquisition strategies, encompassing recruitment and onboarding, to ensure the company attracts and hires outstanding talent.
  • Establish a compelling vision to ensure thoughtful design and execution of talent development programs that promote employee growth, skills enhancement, and career advancement.
  • Cultivate a learning culture that encourages ongoing development and upskilling.
  • Oversee the establishment of the group's performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and performance evaluations.
  • Implement data-driven systems to assess and enhance employee performance and productivity.
  • Drive DE&I initiatives to foster an inclusive workplace, promoting diversity across all facets of the organization.
  • Develop and monitor metrics to evaluate progress in DE&I efforts.
  • Formulate and execute employee engagement strategies to boost job satisfaction and workplace morale.
  • Implement well-being programs that support employees' physical, mental, and emotional health.
  • Supervise the design and management of competitive compensation and benefits packages.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant UK Employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage employee relations, resolving conflicts and nurturing positive employee relations.
  • Stay informed about HR technology trends and utilize data analytics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Enhance HR systems to streamline processes.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with FCA requirements and internal policies in all Regulated Finance and Insurance sales activities.

The Successful Applicant

An ideal candidate for the CPO role should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior HR leadership position within the retail/consumer, automotive, or technology sectors.
  • A strong grasp of HR best practices, UK Employment laws, and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • A strategic mindset with the capability to drive initiatives that align with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in talent acquisition and development.
  • Experience in promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Proficiency in HR technology and data analytics.
