About the Role

The Community Activities Coordinator will play a vital role in delivering our mission of supporting people to improve their prospects and reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of our participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and create a varied activities programme that promotes independence, resilience, choice, and dignity for our participants.
  • Deliver an introduction to activities and ensure all activities are completed in a safe manner.
  • Provide support for the development of soft skills, helping participants to progress during their time on the programme.
  • Work closely with the Furness For You partnership, its participants, and volunteers to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Track improvements using Action Plans/STAR Outcomes or similar.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • IAG Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the local voluntary and community sector and experience of working with people who have multiple barriers.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and self-manage workload while being a team player and recognising the importance of partnership working.
  • Previous experience of running activity-based sessions.
  • Previous experience of tracking improvements using Action Plans/STAR Outcomes or similar.
  • Ability to motivate people who lack confidence.
  • Customer care skills, caring, and empathetic.
  • Experience of data collection and collation, including writing reports and case studies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to the needs of participants.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of following safe lone working practice guidelines.
  • Knowledge and experience of writing and completing risk assessments.
