About the Role

The Community Activities Coordinator will play a vital role in delivering Groundwork's mission of supporting people to improve their prospects and reach their full potential. This role will involve working closely with the Furness For You partnership, its participants, and volunteers to create a varied activities programme that promotes independence, resilience, choice, and dignity for our participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and create a diverse activities programme that caters to the needs of participants
  • Deliver an introduction to activities and ensure all activities are completed in a safe manner
  • Provide support for the development of soft skills, helping participants to progress during their time on the Furness For You Programme
  • Work on own initiative and self-manage workload while being a team player and recognising the importance of partnership working
  • Have previous experience of running activity-based sessions and tracking improvements using Action Plans/STAR Outcomes or similar
  • Ability to motivate people who lack confidence and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer care skills, caring, and empathetic
  • Experience of data collection and collation, including writing reports and case studies
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to the needs of participants
  • Previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of the local voluntary and community sector
Requirements
  • IAG Level 2 or equivalent
  • Knowledge of safe lone working practice guidelines and ability to follow them
  • Knowledge and experience of writing and completing risk assessments
