Industrial Placement Opportunity

Join our team at the Central Laser Facility and contribute to cutting-edge research in fluorescence microscopy. As an Industrial Placement student, you will work alongside our experienced team to develop and implement advanced imaging techniques for super resolution microscopy.
This exciting opportunity will involve:
- Practical experience in cell culture, immunolabelling techniques, and microscope operation
- Image processing and analysis using state-of-the-art software
- Contribution to a research project focused on increasing the number of targets that can be visualised in a single sample
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Currently be enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
- Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement
- Able to commence employment in summer 2025
- A relevant Life Sciences degree and an interest in photo physics/biophysics
- Good record keeping and time/workload management skills
- Self-motivation and a creative/flexible approach to overcoming challenges
