Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Lead Occupational Therapist to work within the Neurosciences team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. If you are a kind and compassionate individual with experience and skills relevant to the post, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

You will work alongside an existing Band 7 Team Lead and Band 8A Clinical Specialist, supporting a team of Occupational Therapists and support workers across a number of wards. Excellent organisational and time management skills are required, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As an autonomous practitioner, you will be able to prioritise and organise your own workload, while also taking a lead role in the assessment and treatment of a variety of complex patients. You will work closely with Specialist Rehabilitation teams and Neuro Rehab Consultants, and will be required to support the team in managing a caseload of varying conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the team in managing a caseload of patients with complex needs in the Neurosciences speciality
  • Work alongside an existing team lead to support a team of Occupational Therapists and support workers across a number of wards
  • Take a lead role in the assessment and treatment of a variety of complex patients
  • Support the team in developing and expanding clinical practice within the Neurosciences speciality
  • Work closely with Specialist Rehabilitation teams and Neuro Rehab Consultants
