Job Title: Project Worker

Service Care Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Project Worker to join our team at The Manchester College. As a Project Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of young people who are excluded or at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with staff, including teachers, support workers, schools, and external agencies, to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Liaise with colleagues, parents, and other professionals regarding the academic and personal development of students.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with parents/carers, keeping them informed of student progress and any concerns.
  • Create realistic and SMART targets relating to attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and attendance, documenting observations, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Utilise the college record keeping systems to provide regular feedback for students and parents/carers through written reports and review days.
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervise learners throughout the day, e.g. arrivals, departures, breaks, lunchtimes, and classroom support.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures, and promoting a culture of vigilance and care.
  • Respond to crises or emergencies involving students, providing immediate support and following established protocols for safeguarding and intervention.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working in a youth-related environment.
  • Significant experience of working with school-age learners.
  • Previous experience of working with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support a culture of teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficient IT skills and a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Awareness of cultural diversity and proficiency in cultural competence to effectively engage with students from diverse backgrounds and communities.
