Position Title: Lead Research Fellowship in Environmental Science

There are no limitations on the funding amount you may request.

Funding encompasses project-related costs and covers 50% of your salary for a duration of up to five years, with 80% of the full economic cost (FEC) being funded.

This is an ongoing funding opportunity with application cycles occurring biannually.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a PhD or an equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant expertise and experience that align with the 'transition to leadership' career phase.
  • Leadership experience of an independent research group with a successful history of securing funding.
  • Endorsement from a recognized authority.

There are no age restrictions or requirements for postdoctoral experience.

International Candidates

Applications are welcomed from individuals of all nationalities, including those living outside the UK, provided the fellowship is hosted by an eligible UK-based research institution.

Ineligible Applicants
  • Individuals who have applied within the past year are not eligible.
  • Candidates who have submitted two prior applications are excluded.
  • Applicants currently under assessment for other NERC fellowships are not eligible.
  • Individuals who have previously held similar senior fellowships are disqualified.

It is not permissible to hold a salaried position concurrently with a fellowship. If awarded, you must relinquish your permanent position for the duration of the fellowship or choose a proleptic appointment.
