Assistant Capital Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Capital Accountant to join our finance team at MHDV. As an Assistant Capital Accountant, you will play a key role in assisting the Capital Accountant and Finance Manager in the day-to-day running of the capital accounts function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up WBS code projects on SAP once CAPEX budget is approved and paperwork is signed off.
  • Raise Purchase Orders for MHDV CAPEX projects.
  • Process CAPEX Invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors, including setting up CAPEX vendors with the SAP vendor team.
  • Communicate with the Maintenance and Hotel Development team to ensure smooth project spend.
  • Liaise with the SAP Approval team on Capital spend (actual and budget) approval, budget reallocation, and budget closure/roll forward at year-end.
  • Submit required CAPEX related reports, such as committed spends.
  • Assist with month-end reporting, including AUC reports and review of AUC balance.
  • Ensure completed projects are followed up to capitalization stage in a timely manner.
  • Review and book Tech fees to capitalized projects in a timely manner and quarterly review of future Tech fees against projects in the pipeline.
  • Assist with internal and external queries, including periodic internal audit reviews and external audit.
  • Ensure compliance with Group policies and procedures.
  • Support the Capital Accountant as required, including holiday cover.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a finance or business-related field.
  • Similar experience in finance accounting is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to communicate financial information to various stakeholders.
  • An eye for detail and ability to identify errors and offer workable solutions.
  • Strong systems skills with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Personable, positive, dynamic professional with a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A disciplined approach to production and documentation of work.
  • Strong team player with the ability to take ownership of work streams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
