Job Purpose:

Important Notice:

This position requires candidates to possess relevant qualifications and experience in the field of Cyber Security.

As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Engineering and Operations division, along with other Digital and Technology sectors, in their daily activities concerning cyber defense and operational security. Your primary responsibility will be to provide assistance and manage administrative functions within technical security platforms. You will actively employ various tools and techniques to identify vulnerabilities and schedule mitigation strategies to reduce potential attack vectors. It is essential to ensure that all operational security measures are in alignment with national initiatives such as the NCSC, PSN, and The Cyber Essentials Frameworks.

Qualifications Required:

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience in Cyber Security or Computer Science.
  • Formal training in the management of common ICT Security systems, as well as voice and data networks or operating systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to implement technological protective measures to prevent unauthorized access and mitigate malicious electronic attacks.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security best practices.
  • Proficiency in Incident and Problem Management resolution.
  • Experience in administering Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW).
  • Background in IT operations.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and customer service is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Attention to detail and effective time management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate expertise in at least three of the following areas:
    • Administration of Voice and Data Communication Technologies
    • Administration of Server and Desktop operating systems
    • Administration of Directory Services
    • Administration of Corporate Email systems or Azure Sentinel
    • Administration of Gateway Security systems
  • Capacity to quickly learn new topics independently.
  • Ability to generate intelligence reports from relevant systems.
