Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Ormston School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with SEN, working closely with the Classroom Teacher to deliver tailored educational programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support to pupils with SEN, promoting their emotional and educational well-being
  • Assist the Classroom Teacher in lesson planning, preparation, and delivery
  • Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure their needs are met
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips
  • Assist with setting work, marking, and providing feedback to pupils
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, driving interaction and positive learning outcomes

Requirements

  • Strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
  • Ability to take additional responsibility in areas such as Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga
  • Experience of behavior management and techniques
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work
