About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD). As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological care to children and young people experiencing significant and complex mental health difficulties and their families.

You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including Clinical Psychology, Systemic Psychotherapists, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists, CBT Therapists, Psychiatrists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Mental Health Practitioners from various backgrounds.

The successful candidate will have a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent, post-qualification specialist therapy/assessment training relevant to children and young people, and experience of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and across agencies.

You will be expected to work with children, young people, and families to understand their experiences and presenting concerns, providing evidence-based interventions and consultation, clinical supervision, and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality psychological care to children and young people experiencing significant and complex mental health difficulties and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence-based interventions and consultation, clinical supervision, and training.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, and families to understand their experiences and presenting concerns.
  • Contribute to the development of others, including supervision and training, and clinical leadership skills to contribute to quality improvement and service development.
Person Specification
  • Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
  • Post-qualification specialist therapy/assessment training relevant to children and young people.
  • Experience of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and across agencies.
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and families to understand their experiences and presenting concerns.
  • Ability to work with complex needs and undertake risk assessments.
  • Experience of providing teaching and training.
  • Experience of safeguarding children and ensuring the safety of young people in partnership with other agencies as appropriate.
  • Experience that evidences an ability to attend to diversity and work in a way that promotes anti-discriminatory practice.
