Clinical Psychologist

The Learning Disability Service is a specialist service that provides a range of services for children and adolescents with a diagnosed learning disability. Our team of learning disability nurses, clinical psychologists, and support assistants work together to offer assessment, intervention, consultation, liaison, and training for other agencies.
Main Duties- Support the clinical lead in supervising staff and trainees within the pathway as appropriate.
- Take a leadership role in the clinical psychology service within the specialist learning disability pathway, promoting clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within professional and guidelines as a specialist within Child and Family Health Devon Service Directorate.

Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will support clinical leadership and contribute to the systemic provision of a high-quality specialist clinical psychology service as part of the specialist learning disability service. They will provide direct specialist psychological assessments and interventions for children and young people with a learning disability and their families, as well as contribute to quality improvement and service development.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified clinical psychologist with experience in using assessment tools such as Vineland 3, Wisc, and Wais. They will also have a broad knowledge of psychological services and the services in the NHS where psychology is applied to the mental health needs of children and young people with a learning disability.

- Car Driver
Desirable qualifications and experience include further training in psychology interventions, experience and knowledge of working with young people with a learning disability, advanced psychological assessment and formulation skills, and partnership working experience.
