About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. As a Specialist Practitioner Psychologist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering psychological services to patients in critical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement psychological assessments and therapy services for patients and their families in critical care.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to identify patients with complex psychological needs and develop strategies to support them.
  • Contribute to the supervision of assistant and trainee psychologists and provide guidance on best practice in critical care psychology.
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans for patients in critical care.
  • Provide psychological support and advice to families and staff caring for patients in critical care.
Requirements
  • Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology.
  • Completion of suitable post-qualification supervised clinical experience with specialized client groups.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting complex long-term health concerns.
  • Able to make judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, which require the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
  • Ability to develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional and academic settings.
