Clinical Nurse Specialist - RGH Cardiology/COTE (Ward 14)
This position involves the role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist, where the successful candidate will be expected to perform duties within a Ward/Department in the Acute Medical wards. The role encompasses a variety of assigned responsibilities that include both direct and indirect patient care, adhering to established protocols.
The individual will be accountable for ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures, aligning with Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB standards, as well as NMC guidelines and Codes of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a designated group of patients and occasionally oversee the ward/department and its resources during their shift.
- Uphold high standards of patient care.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Provide support and supervision to junior staff members.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive records regarding patient conditions, in line with NMC Standards for Record Keeping and the UHB's Patient Record Policy.
- Collaborate with Clinical Specialists, Doctors, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Clinical Nurse Specialists regarding individual patient needs and care plans.
Both full-time and part-time applications are welcome.
Main Duties of the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for registered nurses to join our dedicated team on Ward 14 at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
We seek individuals who are passionate about supporting and treating patients with chronic and acute conditions related to Cardiology and Care of the Elderly. We are looking for motivated and compassionate professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional care to all patients.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, along with the capability to maintain high standards of care.
Opportunities for professional development are available, as the University Health Board has a dedicated training and development department offering a wide range of in-house courses. We also maintain close ties with the University of Glamorgan to support your ongoing professional growth, which is necessary for re-validation. Informal visits are encouraged.
Proficiency in Welsh is desirable for this position; both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged to apply.
