Anaesthetist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our anaesthesia department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic services to our patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement anaesthetic services and perioperative medicine within the trust, working closely with our existing consultants and multidisciplinary team.
- Take an active part in the formal teaching and practical training of junior staff, assuming responsibility for professional supervision and management of non-consultant grade medical staff.
- Contribute to the development of perioperative medicine in the trust, including the use of cardiopulmonary exercise testing to risk stratify patients.
- Participate in continuing medical education activities, including presentations at regional and national meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Assume continuing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
- Engage in a timely fashion with departmental and trust communications, responding to emails and other correspondence.
- Provide leadership for the proper function of services in their charge, in line with agreed policies of the trust.
- Develop their own speciality interests, including active participation in audit and research programmes.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust provides a full range of general acute, outpatient, and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping. We employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred on the M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishop's Stortford, and Epping.
