Strategic Communication Manager for Children and Young People

Contract Type: Permanent, 35 hours per week (Arts Council values flexible working arrangements and encourages applications from individuals seeking flexibility, including job shares).

Compensation: £35,225 annually, inclusive of benefits such as a final salary pension scheme, generous leave policies, and options for flexible and hybrid working.

Work Location: Positions available in various offices outside of London, including locations in the North, Midlands, South East, and South West.
Note: This role may require occasional travel to key offices.

Hybrid Work Model: The position will be based in one of the specified offices, with a hybrid working approach that allows for remote work combined with regular in-person meetings, typically 1-2 days per week.

Role Overview:

If you are passionate about strategic communication, fostering creativity, and managing diverse projects, you may be the ideal candidate for the Senior Communication Officer position focused on Children and Young People.

This role is situated within the Arts Council's national Advocacy and Communications team and collaborates closely with the Children and Young People (CYP) team. The CYP team is dedicated to ensuring that children and young people have access to creative opportunities throughout their lives, both in educational settings and beyond, from early childhood to young adulthood. This encompasses policy development, funding initiatives, advocacy efforts, and program development.

We seek an individual who can effectively articulate the narrative of this important work and leverage their expertise to engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including the broader Advocacy and Communications team, focusing on media relations, stakeholder engagement, and internal communications.

Daily responsibilities will include planning and executing communication strategies to inform stakeholders and advocate for the transformative impact of creativity on young people's lives.

The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple priorities, fostering connections, and enhancing efficiencies, with a strong desire to make a meaningful difference through clear and accessible communication.
