Lead Engineering Manager for Area Operations

Job Type: Full Time

The Lead Engineering Manager is tasked with consistently exhibiting exceptional performance across a wide range of integrated functions in support of the designated Area Manager. The individual in this role is expected to pursue the same agreed-upon and measurable departmental goals as peers in comparable managerial positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To cultivate a strong work ethic within the team, addressing all facets of personal and team activities while promoting a culture of ongoing improvement.
  • To advocate for the adoption of modern working practices and relevant tools to enhance departmental efficiency, such as Infor and RCA.
  • To implement strategies that reduce the potential impact of knowledge loss due to the movement of key personnel.
  • To ensure full compliance with both external and internal mandatory requirements, including timely responses to Safety Bulletins, Technical Bulletins, and Technical Manual Revisions.
  • To manage resources effectively within your area of responsibility, ensuring that the department meets both proactive and reactive maintenance needs while maintaining flexibility to adapt to operational changes.
  • To assist engineering managers in planning and executing annual engineering initiatives, ensuring the department is adequately prepared and resourced to meet ride availability targets, business KPIs, and long-term objectives during operational seasons and inspection periods.
  • To contribute to the review and enhancement of existing departmental procedures, ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety legislation, Codes of Practice, Risk Assessments, and company protocols.
  • To support Engineering Managers in executing business strategies and directives within established timelines.
  • To guarantee that all rides and attractions within your area of responsibility secure a permanent Declaration of Compliance (DOC) prior to operation, and to ensure timely handover of rides to operations. In cases where a temporary DOC is issued, a plan must be established to achieve permanent status as soon as feasible.

Qualifications & Experience:

This position is accountable for the safe and effective maintenance and statutory inspection of all rides and associated equipment during operational seasons, with the objective of maximizing ride and equipment availability and safety. During the off-season, you will oversee your area to ensure the Annual Inspection of all rides and attractions is conducted in accordance with relevant guidelines.

Benefits:

Join our team of THRILLMAKERS at the UK's Favorite theme park, and in return, you will receive:

  • 20 complimentary tickets to any Merlin attractions worldwide.
  • 25% discount in our retail shops and dining establishments.
  • Opportunities for professional development and long-term career growth within Merlin.
  • Complimentary transportation from designated stations to the Resort for all employees.
  • 40% discount online on LEGO products, among other perks.

This role offers a competitive salary.
