We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Baseline Recruit Ltd. As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager in the production of annual budgets, periodic forecasting, and the preparation of annual year-end accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management
    1. Produce monthly Management Accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    2. Support budget managers in the management of their budgets, providing guidance and expertise.
    3. Assist the Finance Manager in the production of annual budgets, taking into account financial projections and forecasts.
    4. Support the Finance Manager in periodic forecasting, analyzing financial data to inform business decisions.
    5. Support the Finance Manager in the production of annual year-end accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    6. Support the completion of External statutory return submission, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    7. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
    8. Responsible for the production, importing, and reconciliation of the cash system information into the finance nominal ledger system.
    9. Responsible for the completion of the bank reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  2. VAT
    1. Ensure correct implementation of VAT rules are applied in all areas, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
    2. Check and post data input of Sales and Purchase ledgers to ensure correct VAT, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
    3. Work jointly with the Financial Operations Manager in the preparation of the quarterly VAT return, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  3. Capital & Fixed Assets
    1. Maintain the Fixed assets register, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    2. Monitor and report on capital movements, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
    3. Reconcile between the fixed asset register and financial nominal ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  4. Accounts Receivable
    1. Responsible for the administration of Education Funding Agency (EFA) Fees, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
    2. Oversee the correct payment of Fees from EFA and Local Authorities, debt chasing as necessary.
    3. Responsibility for managing benefit forms when addressed to the College (not individuals), including annual free school meal claims.
    4. Assist the Finance Manager with Education Fees Costings and Contracts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    5. Responsible for preparing student bursary calculations for payment, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    6. Responsible for the administration and management of other invoicing as requested.
