Role Summary

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is in search of a dedicated professional to ensure that technical modifications to digital services are thoroughly evaluated for their impact, prioritized, scheduled, authorized, and executed in accordance with established protocols.

Your responsibilities will include establishing and leading a Change Advisory Board (CAB).

You will manage release schedules and dependencies for deployments across our AWS and Azure environments, as well as other platforms like Salesforce and Workday, utilizing strong collaborative skills to engage with team members, clients, and external service providers.

We are looking for an individual who can initiate and execute processes while prioritizing user needs.

Team Overview

This position is part of the Digital Services (DST) Technical Operations team, which consists of 11 members responsible for the continuous development, delivery, and support of over 20 digital services for internal users, customers, and suppliers, achieving a system uptime exceeding expectations. The role reports to the Head of Service and does not entail direct line management responsibilities.

This position is part of the Digital, Data, and Technology profession within the Civil Service.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the team, you will be expected to exhibit meticulous attention to detail, a readiness to familiarize yourself with new applications, and a collaborative spirit to ensure the delivery of exceptional technology operations services for CCS clients.

  • Establish and lead a CAB, ensuring appropriate membership and clear terms of reference.
  • Enhance awareness of the CAB and oversee adherence to change management processes.
  • Manage modifications to services, configuration items, organizational changes, supplier changes, and associated documentation, ensuring compliance with impacted business services.
  • Ensure accurate recording and control of changes to assets, fostering organizational commitment to asset management.
  • Collaborate with team members, delivery partners, and service providers on project milestones to facilitate seamless implementation of new and enhanced services.
  • Coordinate responses to incident reports, ensuring proper prioritization and detailed information for effective investigation. Identify the correct procedures for resolution and monitor progress updates to clients.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements to leverage new and emerging tools and technologies effectively.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications (To be evaluated at application stage):

  • Proven experience in change management with the ability to develop a successful change management process from inception to full maturity in production environments.
  • Experience in asset and configuration management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of managing service components to ensure alignment with business needs and performance objectives.
  • Experience in diagnosing and prioritizing incidents, investigating their causes, and identifying resolutions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and proactively share knowledge with team members.
