Main Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing first aid and medical support to students and staff
  • Managing the register of qualified first aiders and arranging a duty rota
  • Coordinating health and safety initiatives and maintaining the medical room
  • Liaising with the catering supplier regarding student dietary requirements
  • Administering student medication and managing medical records
  • Delivering medical-related support to students with individual needs
  • Using Medical Tracker and other records to monitor incidents and trends
  • Analysing data and suggesting solutions to improve student safety
  • Attending regular meetings with the Director of Resources and coordinating communication with parents
  • Writing and updating individual health care plans and tracking student progress
  • Coordinating student medical examinations and advising staff on procedures
  • Promoting health education and maintaining high standards of clinical procedures
  • Liaising with parents, medical personnel, and external agencies to ensure student health needs are met
  • Ensuring adequate stocks of first aid consumables and equipment
  • Working within current Child Protection Procedures and liaising with the designated Child Protection Officer
  • Referring students to mental health services and following up with CAMHS and other agencies
Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A good standard of education, including English and Mathematics GCSE or equivalent
  • Awareness of current public health services and developments in education
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and confidentiality
  • Experience in administration, working with children and families, and managing support for students
  • Experience in training staff and managing logs, as well as analysing data and creating action plans
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software and experience in using spreadsheets
  • First Aid qualification and experience in working with professionals
