About the Role

Harris Federation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical and First Aid Lead to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and medical support to students and staff as needed
  • Manage the first aid team and ensure adequate coverage at all times
  • Oversee the maintenance of the medical room and ensure it is well-stocked with necessary supplies
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the health needs of students are met
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement health and safety protocols
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to health and safety
  • Provide training and support to staff on first aid and health-related topics
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives

Requirements

  • Good standard of education, including English and Mathematics GCSE or equivalent
  • Awareness of current public health services
  • Awareness of current developments in school
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
  • Knowledge of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software
  • First Aid qualification
  • Experience of working with children and families
  • Experience in organising and managing support for students
