Department /Role OverviewThe Conflicts & Ethics Team within our Global Risk & Compliance Department is responsible for identifying and resolving potential conflicts of interest. This involves analyzing new clients and matters to ensure compliance with legal and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain knowledge of professional conduct rules applicable in the UK and other countries where Ashurst operates.
- Use research skills to verify clients, third parties, and assets involved in new business requests.
- Apply understanding of legal transactions to determine relationships between parties involved in a matter, and consult with partners and lawyers if necessary.
- Analyze information in conflict management systems and databases to identify potential conflicts of interest.
- Collaborate with team members and senior management to resolve legal and commercial conflicts.
- Record accurate phone notes, legal, and commercial analysis for compliance purposes.
- Maintain high data quality within the conflicts database.
- Work across function groups to tackle projects and solve problems.
- Take advantage of professional development opportunities and career planning.
- Assist in preparing and delivering training and compliance education sessions.
- Interest in corporate multinational firms and their operations.
- Desire to understand the business and work collaboratively to solve problems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong IT literacy and adaptability to new processes and technology.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with legal and support staff.
- Discretion to maintain confidential information.

- Experience in a law firm or large corporation is preferable but not essential.
