We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at McBride. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical maintenance tasks on assigned lines and equipment, ensuring timely completion and accurate recording.
  • Produce and action T-cards for all jobs to be planned or carried out on assigned lines.
  • Collaborate with the line crew to carry out production tasks required on assigned lines.
  • Communicate effectively within and across shifts regarding technical status of assigned lines and equipment.
  • Ensure lines are left in a fully functioning state for the next shift, and conduct effective shift handovers with shift reports.
  • Maintain change-parts shadow boards to support OEE levels on assigned lines and equipment.
  • Properly record all parts used for maintenance and repair, booking out against line/equipment.
  • Interface with the maintenance planner and stores personnel for planning and provision of spares and materials.
  • Liaise with the Engineering Team Manager for workload planning and technical support.
  • Ensure accurate downtime recording in the SAP system and identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement.
  • Contribute to SMED programmes and lean activities, and support/guide operators in performing cleaning schedules.
  • Perform preventive maintenance schedules and tasks, including lubrication, overhaul of spare modules, and planned downtime activity.
  • Help identify and adhere to standard settings for all.
  • Contribute to improvement/replacement projects and provide technical training to production colleagues and engineering apprentices.
  • Self-train to maintain skill and knowledge base, and build towards Electrician Plus skill-set.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and improved.
  • Ensure legal compliances are maintained for COMAH, ATEX/DSEAR, and other areas.
  • Participate in Emergency Evacuation Plan and have a working knowledge of site fire alarm systems and emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Comply with Permit To Work systems, Isolation Procedures, and all other HSE Systems.
Requirements:
  • Engineering skills obtained by time-served apprenticeship or equivalent (NVQ Level 3)
  • Plus skill set is an additional Cross-trade NVQ Level 3 bolt-on to core role
  • Multi-skilled with proven basic electrical competency
  • Continuous improvement and root cause analysis skills
  • Literate and numerate (GCSE level English and Maths or equivalent desirable)
  • Ability to interpret documentation in English Language
  • Experience in food FMCG or equivalent process industry
  • Familiar with packaging lines, drives, conveyors, rotating machinery, pumping equipment, and valves
  • Familiar with pneumatically and hydraulically controlled systems
  • Competent in safe working procedures
