This team will transform the existing monolithic application structure, reimagining its architecture and segmenting it into more manageable services. Role Responsibilities
We seek a Technical Team Leader to guide both the team and the modernization of the application framework for a significant product. You will oversee a small, highly skilled agile team, taking charge of the mission and your development methodologies.
Your engineering team will be based in the UK, and you will collaborate closely with the existing application team, as well as a diverse array of stakeholders across various countries.
Key Duties
- Directing the team, segmenting tasks, and steering the technical program.
- Collaborating with the Product Manager, leading design efforts, and implementing new features.
- Enhancing the team's capabilities, mentoring team members, and ensuring cohesive team dynamics.
- Conducting assessments and recommending improvements to the existing architecture, then guiding the implementation to completion.
- Developing AWS platform infrastructure, including NodeJS/Python Lambda functions.
- Executing Blue/Green deployment strategies for database updates.
- Leading and engaging in development processes, coding standards, and code evaluations.
- Operating within various development frameworks (Agile, Kanban, etc.) while working with key stakeholders.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
Qualifications
- Ability to lead a team of developers, fostering inspiration and building strong relationships. Provide both technical and professional mentorship to the team.
- Extensive experience with modern React frameworks; familiarity with NextJS or other server-side rendering technologies is advantageous.
- Experience with platform technologies, particularly AWS Serverless, App Sync, Cloud Formation, and microservices.
- Significant software engineering experience, particularly with large systems, refactoring, and managing technical debt.
- Exposure to a diverse coding environment, including C#, SQL, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience collaborating with key stakeholders in varied development methodologies like Agile and Waterfall.
- Understanding of continuous software delivery practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills suitable for a broad audience.
