Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the checkout system, accurately processing sales transactions, including cash, credit, and debit card payments.
  • Welcome and assist customers courteously, addressing their inquiries and providing information about products or services.
  • Ensure the checkout area is tidy, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Process returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with store policies, resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
  • Efficiently bag items and provide customers with their receipts, ensuring a positive and streamlined checkout experience.
  • Support with restocking and replenishing shelves in the checkout vicinity as necessary.
  • Monitor and report any issues with the checkout equipment or systems to management in a timely manner.
  • Maintain precision in transaction processing and ensure accurate recording of all sales data.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to meet sales targets and support overall store operations.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in retail or customer service is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a retail or cashier position is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Basic proficiency in utilizing point-of-sale systems and handling cash transactions.
