About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment Specialist to join our team at Warburtons. As a key member of our site team, you will provide critical support to our Health, Safety and Environment Manager in ensuring the site meets its legal responsibilities and maintains a strong health and safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of our National Health, Safety and Environment strategy, ensuring compliance with statutory and company policy.
  • Provide expert advice to line managers on site health and safety matters, ensuring accurate and timely guidance.
  • Coach managers and employees to promote a culture of responsibility and accountability, driving continuous improvement.
  • Work with site operational trainers to develop and maintain the site training plan, ensuring compliance with our HSE Management System.
  • Monitor and report on site performance against relevant HSE KPIs, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Understand and maintain site performance against Warburtons' HSE management system requirements.
  • Partner with the site team to drive standards, promoting awareness of emerging HSE issues and their impact on business performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health, Safety and Environment role, preferably in an FMCG organization.
  • General knowledge of all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Good knowledge of Health Safety and Environment legislation.
  • Minimum qualification NEBOSH certificate and/or IEMA Foundation certificate.
  • Willingness to attain NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.
  • Technician Membership of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
  • Knowledge of ISO14001, OHSAS18001 management systems would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Promote safety as an enabler, not a blocker.
