We are a leading provider of construction services, specializing in full maintenance, alterations, and refurbishment projects for various sectors, including healthcare, education, and commercial industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:- Developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Conducting regular risk assessments, producing method statements, and creating site folders to ensure a safe working environment.
- Performing site safety inspections, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending corrective actions.
- Investigating workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and reporting RIDDOR reportable incidents as required.
- Acting as a point of contact for health and safety-related issues, providing guidance and support to staff and contractors.
- Organizing and conducting training sessions on health and safety best practices.
- Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, risk assessments, and training sessions.
- Implementing programs to promote workplace health and well-being.
- Ensuring compliance with SSIP requirements and assisting with internal and external audits.
- Attending regular meetings with line managers to report on health and safety matters.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant qualifications, such as NEBOSH or IOSH, and computer literacy.
