Job Title: A&E General Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced A&E General Nurse to join our team at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to work in a fast-paced A&E environment, supporting clinicians in various orthopaedic clinics. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and overseeing clinics, ensuring they run efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a broad clinical knowledge base in orthopaedics and be able to work as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care. They will also be responsible for supporting and mentoring Healthcare Assistants in the clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and oversee clinics to ensure they run efficiently and effectively
  • Support clinicians in various orthopaedic clinics
  • Responsible for HCA's in the clinical areas and supporting them whilst on duty
  • Ensure patients are cared for to the highest standards, underpinned by the Trust's Values and Behaviors
Person Specification
  • Registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Diploma/degree in nursing studies or working towards
Knowledge and Experience
  • Relevant experience in a healthcare environment
  • Previous NHS experience within the last 12 months
  • Previous experience within an Acute setting
  • Broad clinical knowledge base in orthopaedics
Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Confident and calm attitude with the ability to work under pressure
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Accurate document presentation and attention to detail
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, shows initiative
