Eye Care Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality ophthalmic care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of eye conditions.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent patient care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of education and training programs for healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (with license to practice).
- Certificate of completion in specialist training (CCT) or within 6 months of completion of training at the time of interview.
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (or equivalent).
- Practical experience in a wide range of ophthalmic conditions.
- Able to provide emergency cover to ophthalmic patients.
- Experience of clinical supervision of juniors and relevant staff in other disciplines.
- Knowledge of up to date ophthalmic clinical practice.
- Recent active involvement in delivery of Medical Education and multi professional training.
