About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Paediatrician to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our paediatric department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to children and young people with acute and non-acute paediatric problems, including medical, surgical, child protection, resuscitation, and neonatal care.
  • Lead and manage a team of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Develop and deliver medical education and training programs for junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice and entry on the Specialist Register or in receipt of CCT within six months of interview.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (or equivalent).
  • Completed Specialist Training (or equivalent).
  • Completed and up to date with APLS/NLS (or equivalent) and level 3 Child Protection Training.
  • Proven experience in clinical audit and leadership.
