Overview of Your Responsibilities As the HVDC Control & Protection Integration and Testing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire software development lifecycle during project execution. You will lead a dedicated team of software engineers in the development and integration of advanced Control and Protection systems tailored for HVDC applications. Your leadership will ensure that customer specifications are met while devising effective testing strategies to achieve client satisfaction.

Key Contributions

  • Direct the Control & Protection software development from project initiation to final acceptance testing, ensuring adherence to all relevant system specifications.
  • Establish and maintain consistent requirements engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Guide a team of software engineers through the software development and integration phases.
  • Collaborate closely with customers and internal stakeholders to define acceptance testing criteria.
  • Coordinate both offsite and onsite acceptance testing, compile test reports, and monitor outstanding issues.
  • Monitor development and testing progress, providing regular updates to project management.
  • Advocate for a model-based engineering approach and support the effective use of X-in-the-loop environments to meet project objectives in terms of time and quality.
  • Work in partnership with project management and project leads to deliver exceptional value to our clients.
  • Assist tender teams in bid projects by planning and estimating integration and testing activities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Automation Engineering) or a related technical discipline.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Control and Protection systems for large-scale industrial converter applications (engineering/commissioning in HVDC or similar electrical converter systems).
  • Willingness to work onsite for certain periods during customer acceptance testing.
  • Experience in leading small engineering or commissioning teams is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Proactive in driving initiatives and resolving challenges through effective partner management.
  • Ability to approach complex tasks with analytical thinking and a structured mindset.
  • Comfortable engaging in direct communication with clients and internal partners.
