Key Responsibilities
- Conducting dynamic performance assessments during the tendering and execution phases of HVDC projects.
- Enhancing the dynamic characteristics of HVDC converters, including black-start capabilities and network restoration, in alignment with customer and national grid standards.
- Investigating sub-synchronous torsional/control interactions and harmonic impedance of converters, as well as potential interactions with other controlled devices within the power network.
- Creating and validating simulation models for various Electromagnetic Transients (EMT) simulation tools.
- Providing customer training on simulation models and presenting analytical results to clients.
- Driving continuous improvement and standardization of simulation models, study methodologies, project execution processes, and documentation practices.
- Assisting project management with technical discussions, engaging in client meetings, and coordinating with external partners.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master's degree in electrical power engineering or control engineering, ideally complemented by a PhD and relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of high voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics, and HVDC technology.
- Proficient in control engineering and modeling of HVDC systems in both time and frequency domains.
- Experienced user of standard power system simulation software.
- Fluency in English (both spoken and written) is essential; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Exceptional teamwork abilities, proactive attitude, and a strong customer service orientation.
