Key Responsibilities
- Conducting dynamic performance evaluations during the tendering and execution phases of HVDC projects.
- Enhancing the dynamic characteristics of HVDC converters in line with customer specifications and national grid standards.
- Investigating sub-synchronous interactions and harmonic impedance, along with assessing potential interactions between HVDC converters and other regulated devices within the power network.
- Creating and validating simulation models for various Electromagnetic Transients (EMT) simulation tools.
- Providing customer training on simulation models and presenting analytical results.
- Driving continuous enhancement and standardization of simulation models, study methodologies, and project execution processes, along with documenting outcomes.
- Assisting project management in technical discussions, engaging in client meetings, and coordinating with external partners.
Qualifications and Skills
- Advanced degree in electrical power engineering or control engineering, ideally complemented by a PhD and relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of high voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics, and HVDC technology.
- Proficient in control engineering and modeling of HVDC systems across both time and frequency domains.
- Experienced user of standard power system simulation software.
- Fluency in English (both spoken and written) is essential; proficiency in German is advantageous.
- Exceptional teamwork abilities, proactive attitude, and strong customer focus.
