Role Overview:

Hatch is seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in HVDC systems to join our energy team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of generation and transmission types, including renewable energy, HVDC, and FACTs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical studies using software such as RTDS, PSCAD, PSSE, PSLF, and others.
  • Develop technical specifications for projects.
  • Provide customer technical support for operations and maintenance of renewable energy, HVDC, and FACTs systems.
  • Support the design of power generation and transmission systems.
  • Prepare presentations and reports.
  • Write technical papers and present at conferences.
  • Support business development efforts, including client relationships and proposal preparation.

Requirements:

  • Technical experience with HVDC and FACTs, generators, transmission lines, or related.
  • Academic or work experience with PSCAD, RTDS, PSSE, PSLF, EMTP, or related software programs.
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience with an Electrical Engineering or related degree and interest in power systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of operations, maintenance, and switching requirements for electrical systems.
