Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Sales Engineer who will work with our enterprise and mid-market accounts. In this role, you will partner with Sales to uncover a customer's current and future states as well as their goals in order to best position Allego's solutions. You'll gain an understanding of how Allego can fit into a customer's technology stack and the common use cases we can support across systems, and you'll act as the customer's main technical point of contact and lead the sale to a technical close.
Key Responsibilities
- Become a Master User: Act as a knowledge expert of Allego's sales learning platform and stay up-to-date with the latest features and functionalities.
- Participate in Sales Calls: Join sales calls and meetings with customers to understand their needs and provide technical guidance.
- Create Compelling Presentations: Develop engaging presentations and collateral that demonstrate Allego's solutions and value proposition.
- Deliver Product Demonstrations: Showcase Allego's product capabilities and provide customized product environments to meet customer needs.
- Take Ownership of Continuous Improvement: Refine the discovery process, demo scripts, and value-add use cases to drive business growth.
- Deliver Demonstrations with Flawless Execution: Ensure seamless and methodical product demonstrations that meet customer expectations.
- Assist with High-Level Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with customers to gather requirements and provide input on RFI/RFP processes.
- Articulate Value Proposition: Effectively communicate Allego's value proposition to senior executives in marketing, sales, and IT.
- Act as Technical Lead: Lead IT and information security evaluations of Allego's cloud infrastructure and security practices.
- Stay Current with Technology Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and competitive landscape.
- Serve as an Internal Expert: Share knowledge and expertise with internal teams to inform product direction and marketing strategy.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced, SaaS high-tech Sales Engineer/Solutions Consultant (Presales) role.
- Ability to set and manage expectations, resources, and time.
- Engaging, prescriptive, and persuasive communication style.
- Previous exposure to basic web development and cloud security concepts.
- Experience presenting and delivering technical pitches.
- Ability to work well and contribute independently as well as in a team environment.
- Passion for technology and a love for working in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically, up to 10%, and support a customer base across multiple time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry knowledge of our key markets (financial services, healthcare, technology, insurance).
- Experience selling revenue enablement, knowledge management, sales engagement, coaching, or learning technologies.
