Senior Tenancy Management Officer

Position Overview:
As a Senior Tenancy Management Officer, you will spearhead the Council's legal initiatives regarding tenancy enforcement, focusing on all facets of Housing Management related to General Needs and Independent Living tenancies.
Your role will involve providing leadership, support, and direction to the Housing Management Team, ensuring effective strategies are implemented to maintain tenancies.
You will conduct comprehensive assessments of individual tenancies, reviewing actions taken to sustain them, and offering recommendations to case officers for subsequent steps.
Additionally, you will assist Housing Officers and Housing Coordinators by providing informal support as needed.
Your responsibilities will include leading the execution of all housing management functions of the Council, aligning with the Council's housing objectives and priorities.
As a vital member of a multifunctional housing team, you will contribute to delivering a seamless, high-quality, and customer-centric service.
Moreover, you will play a role in fostering a positive working environment and ensuring that customer care standards are upheld in accordance with the Council's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the Council in legal matters related to housing management processes.
- Conduct thorough reviews of tenancies at risk of eviction, determining necessary actions to sustain them.
- Supervise Housing Officers in providing housing management services to all tenants, including those in general needs and Independent Living schemes.
- Offer guidance and information to tenants and the public through various communication channels, emphasizing excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with housing teams and other departments to ensure effective service delivery and address any issues or complaints.
- Work with internal and external partners to sustain tenancies through a coordinated approach and tailored support packages.
- Monitor and manage noise complaints and coordinate the use of recording equipment.
- Support Housing Officers in processing housing management requests, including tenancy transfers and mutual exchanges, in compliance with current legislation.
- Investigate and act on breaches of tenancy conditions, utilizing appropriate methods, including legal action when necessary.
- Handle high-risk complaints related to antisocial behavior and neighbor disputes, ensuring prompt and effective resolution in collaboration with relevant agencies.
- Prepare comprehensive evidence packages for legal proceedings concerning neighbor nuisance and antisocial behavior cases.
- Promote tenant engagement and establish productive relationships, fostering equal opportunities within the service.
- Collaborate with residents and agencies to develop and uphold community agreements.
- Organize case conferences with relevant agencies to achieve positive outcomes for tenants.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all activities within housing management systems and prepare reports for the Housing Services Team Leader.
- Maintain precise monitoring records and generate statistical reports to identify areas for service improvement.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in supervising staff within a housing context.
- Experience in public-facing roles, engaging with diverse customer groups effectively.
